Ron Feinman, is a native of Lynchburg, Virginia, and received his law degree from the University of Virginia in 1979. One World has teamed with Synergy Settlement Services to provide a host of settlement services to trial attorneys and their clients. A seasoned trial attorney with courtroom and appellate experience in both the Virginia Supreme Court and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, Ron placed his first structured settlement, as a plaintiff’s attorney, in 1983. He is a member of several sections of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association (“VTLA”) and the American Association for Justice (formerly ATLA) and the Society of Settlement Planners, a plaintiff-only structured settlement trade association. From his law firm, Ron also provides valuable advice and feedback in the mediation and settlement processes and on related issues such as damages, taxation, and deductibility of attorney fees. Ron currently serves on the Board of the Commonwealth Community Trust, a statewide pooled income fund providing special needs trust services to the disabled, and is a member of the Brain Injury Association of Virginia. He is a past Chairman of the Board and former board member for the Central and Western Virginia Chapter of Alzheimer’s Association (covering the western half of Virginia) and a former Board Member and Past President of the National Association of Philanthropic Planners (currently IAP) and has been named the Regional Vice-Chair of the B’nai B’rith International Planned Giving Committee. Ron serves on the Planned Giving Advisory Board of the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities, and is on the Board and heads the Planned Giving Committee for the Children’s Miracle Network of Western Virginia. He is past president of the Association of Fund Raising Professionals, Piedmont Chapter. Ron has been a featured speaker before numerous national industry and professional groups, including a main platform presentation to the VTLA Annual Convention, and has published articles in such regional and national publications as Trusts and Estates and The Journal of the Virginia Trial Lawyer Association. In addition to his litigation experience, Ron has expertise in the areas of tax and estate planning, and financial services. He is a member of WealthCounsel and its sister organization, Eldercounsel, as well as Lawyer’s with Purpose, all national collaboratives of trust and estate planning attorneys developing and sharing state of the art planning techniques and documentation for Trusts and Estates, Medicaid, and VA Benefits Planning. Ron is a member of the National Association of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA) and serves on the Board of the Virginia Association of Elder Law Attorneys (VAELA). Partner with Ron here.
